Titanium flanges connect pipes, valves and equipment in corrosive service. Six flange types cover almost every application.
Weld Neck (WN)
A long tapered hub welded to the pipe. Best for high-pressure and cyclic service; transfers stress smoothly into the pipe.
Slip-On (SO)
Slides over the pipe and is fillet-welded inside and out. Easier to align, lower cost, for moderate pressure.
Blind (BL)
A solid disc used to close off a pipe end, valve or vessel opening.
Socket Weld (SW)
The pipe is inserted into a socket and fillet-welded. Common on small-bore, higher-pressure lines.
Threaded
Screws onto threaded pipe — no welding. Useful where welding is impractical.
Lap Joint
Used with a stub end so the flange can rotate freely for bolt-hole alignment; the flange itself never contacts the medium, allowing a cheaper backing flange.
Standards
Titanium flanges are commonly made to ASME B16.5 dimensions from Grade 2 or Grade 7 material, forged to ASTM B381.
